Cycling, camping, brewiing beer, and trees!
Competitor in Ontario Tree Climbing Competition (2012)
About Tara Kuhn:
I’ve always loved camping and cycling in the country but I spend most of my time in cities. I’ve therefore come to have a profound appreciation for urban forests.
I was first exposed to arboriculture working with a forester during a summer off from my studies at McGill University. I received a BA in International Development Studies but soon realized that my true interest and passion lay in the development of my own community. I believe that trees are an integral facet of a healthy urban community and arboriculture is a great way for me to participate in the preservation of trees and to foster positive attitudes towards increasing tree canopy in urban settings.
I enrolled in the Humber College Urban Arboriculture program in 2011 and am thrilled to be a part of this industry. Climbing trees provides a new and exciting challenge every day. Spending time in the canopy of trees is an incredible learning experience; it has given me a unique perspective on the role of individual trees as members of the urban ecosystem.
I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with the team at Kelly’s Tree Care - a very talented and dedicated group!
