About Dillon Scheenaard:

I grew up in the suburbs of Pickering Ontario and frequently visited Vancouver Island where parts of my family lived. Being around such a wild and majestic part of the world I was conditioned by Mother Nature to appreciate and love this life giving force, the temperate rainforest.

It took a degree in advertising and 5 years of working in graphic design to realize how much I love the outdoors, science and nature. I then decided to enrol in the Humber urban arboriculture program where my life took a drastic 180° turn. I have never looked back. Although I still love and cherish my education and experience in visual communication, arboriculture has made me into the person I am today and so connected to the present.

Midway through the Humber program I began looking for work. Kelly's was top of mind after hearing about how special they are; so I set my sights on this unique company. It feels like such a close knit family after a short time getting to know everyone and has provided me a truly fulfilling, rewarding job.

As I look forward into the arboriculture world I hope to see myself in trees even more and to help everyone learn about how special and vital trees are for all of us. Now that I am what I consider to be a professional monkey I have never been happier in my entire life. I have to thank all my fellow tree friends from school and work for making this experience what it is.
